Clippity Clop, Clippity Clop

Today’s tune is

OLD  HORSE  AND  BUGGY

This is a great tune in the key of A that switches to the key of D in the B part, sort of. The key signature stays the same at 3 #’s, but the chords are in the key of D, and there are no G#’s in the melody line. The tune resolves on the A chord, though, to swing back around to the beginning. I love it! At the Walnut Valley Festival, in Winfield, Kansas, this year, Old Horse and Buggy is one of the tunes that our camp, Shoe Goo Camp, will be playing. For more Shoe Goo tunes to practice, click here.

Here is the guitar TAB and notation – Old Horse and Buggy – Gtr TAB

I found this great video of a trio playing it very close to the way it’s notated here.

With the school year in full swing, I haven’t had as much time to work on music, and you may be in the same boat. Just the same, take those few spare minutes that you can squeeze out – maybe skip your favorite TV program, and play your guitar instead. You’ll be glad that you did!

Blessings
